What to expect?
Arriving at the clinic, our friendly receptionist will take some personal details. The nurse will then take the weight and vitals when necessary. You will be then introduced to the doctor for evaluation. Your doctor may advise you to do special tests. Some are done in clinic such as skin prick testing for allergy and spirometry for breathing assessment. At the end of the consultation you will be provided with a professional advice. Often a prescription is provided.
The length of the visit will vary depending on the type of visit and tests needed. On average a new consultation may take 20-30 minutes. This may extend another 20 minutes if testing in clinic is required.
Allergy Skin Testing
It is important to remember to abstain from the use of oral antihistamines for at least 4 days, and not to be on systemic steroids of recent note.

Breathing Test (Spirometry)
no Ventolin should be used for at least 8 hours prior to the test. Similar medicines which work for longer time (e.g. Symbicort or Seretide) should be discontinued for at least 24 hours prior to test. This should be discussed with your doctor first to make sure stopping medication would not affect your health
